Spring Classes
We’ve had a BUSY Winter season here at the Hangout and we’re just as busy gearing up for SPRING!!! We know you’re all just as ready as we are! We’ve got some really exciting stuff coming up including new class offerings, workshops for parents, and special events!
Classes
We’re bringing back our Preschool “No Cooking” Cooking class for Spring! This will be a 4 week class for preschoolers, ages 3-5, and caregivers. We’ll practice essential skills like cutting and measuring in a kid-safe, hands-on way, and try out recipes that can be replicated easily at home. At the end of the session, kids will take home their very own recipe book. This class will be on Tuesdays starting at 11:00 am April 5th through April 26th. The session (4 weeks) is $80 for Non-Members and $60 for Members.
We’ll also be offering Sensory Art classes every Thursday in April at 11:00 am. These process-based classes will be for all ages and abilities. Please note that these are each one-off classes and not a series like previous classes have been. Projects will include bubble painting, making our own puffy paint, painting with various sensory balls and objects, and more! Non-Member tickets are $10 per class and Member tickets are $8. We do ask that you purchase tickets ahead of time so that we can plan supplies and space accordingly. Stay tuned for the schedule of projects each week!
Queen City Zumbini will be back on Monday, April 25th! Developed by the creators of Zumba, Zumbini is for children ages birth through 4 years and caregivers, and incorporates lots of fun music and movement. Ms. Dana is the only certified Zumbini instructor in Cincinnati so you don’t want to miss this one! Tickets are $15 per child and include a play pass.
Workshops
In addition to our class offerings for kids, we’re expanding our workshop offerings for adults as well. We are proud to host Jamaica Gilliam, certified doula and lactation consultant with Latchd Life, for free monthly breastfeeding support workshops on the last Thursday of each month at 6:00 pm. Check out Latchd Life on Facebook for more information and the link to sign up.
We’re also excited to host Maria Dunlap of Re-Viv Family Support Foundation on April 26th at 6:30 pm for a free Intro to Grief Support workshop. Maria is an End-of-Life Doula who specializes in grief support. While it can be an uncomfortable topic, it is difficult but important to know how to support those we love going through the grief process. Watch for the sign-up link, coming soon!
Events
Our monthly Mom’s Night Out is back on April 20th at 6 pm. Activity will be TBD so stay tuned for more info. Who doesn’t need an excuse to get out with your gal pals for a kid-free evening?
Finally, don’t forget the Easter Bunny will be here on April 10th from 12-2 pm! Tickets are available in 15-minute increments for pictures and activities with the Easter Bunny. Tickets for Non-Members are $15 and Members are $10. (Photos with the Easter Bunny are DIY - we will not have a photographer present.)
